ACI is Egypt's advance cargo information process. Plan it with the shipment, before the vessel is close.
What ACI is
ACI stands for advance cargo information. Egypt uses it so customs can see shipment data before many imports arrive. The work runs through Nafeza, the national online trade window.
Who does what
You remain the importer of record. Your tax and company details must match the filing. A licensed customs broker can enter pre shipment data when you authorize them. The foreign seller uploads shipping papers through Egypt's required electronic channel. Hendy handles the Egypt side when you appoint us.
The ACID number
An ACID number is the shipment ID Nafeza gives for the cargo. For many commercial sea imports it must exist before the goods leave the foreign port. Papers must show the same number so customs can match the file on arrival.
Timing mistakes that cost money
Starting ACI when the vessel is already close. Supplier invoices that do not match the filing. Transport details that change after the number is issued. Each of those can hold cargo and raise port storage.
ACI runs with the clearance file
The same desk that files Nafeza also follows product codes, inspections, and release. ACI is part of that clearance file.
