How Hendy clears a shipment
What we need from you, what we file before the cargo arrives, and what happens until release.
What to send on day one
Send the commercial invoice, packing list, and transport document to open the file. For sea cargo that is the bill of lading; for land cargo it is the waybill. Tell us the product, the port or border, and the expected arrival. If Form 4 or other payment papers are ready, send those too. We confirm what else the file needs for that cargo.
Before your cargo arrives
We check product codes for customs, match them to the papers, and start Egypt's trade filing (Nafeza and the ACID number) before the goods leave the foreign port when the import rules require it. Early filing is the main way to avoid holds and extra port fees.
Customs review and inspection
Customs reviews the file. They may release it on papers alone, or they may inspect the cargo. We stay with the file through that step so a missing detail does not sit unnoticed on the terminal.
Release
Release means customs has finished its decision and the cargo may leave the customs area. Duties and taxes are separate from our clearance fee. We tell you what the file needs so you can pay the right amounts on time.
After release
After release we can arrange sea freight haulage, land freight haulage, and storage at Alexandria port and outside Alexandria port, including Cairo. Read more on after customs release.
